Ben Walsh hat jüngst in seinem schönen Buch “Exciting ICT in History” gezeigt, wie Office-Anwendungen sinnvoll im Geschichtsunterricht eingesetzt werden können. Medien wirken erst durch und in der konkreten Nutzung bildend. Das erscheint eine Binsenweisheit zu sein. Für den Einsatz Neuer Medien in unterrichtlichen Zusammenhängen darf allerdings nachgelegt werden. Ein Blick in die JIM-Studie aus dem Jahr 2006 belegt, dass weniger als ein Viertel der Jugendlichen zwischen 12 und 19 Jahren Computer und Internet zum Lernen und Arbeiten nutzen. Ist es aber nicht Auftrag der Schule bildend und erziehend zu wirken? Insofern wäre es die Aufgabe des Fachlehrer Medien in den Unterricht didaktisch-methodisch sinnvoll zu integrieren. Oft scheitert der gute Wille auch an den eigenen Medienkompetenzen. Ein Ausweg aus diesem Dilemma könnte die Seite http://www.learn2use.de sein. “Momentan” - wie es in den AGBs heißt - stehen ca. 1013 Screencasts kostenfrei zur Verfügung. Registrierte Nutzer können auf über 6000 Videos zurückgreifen, gelockt wird zusätzlich mit dem kostenfreien Download von Camtasia Studio 3. Die Liste der bisher ganz ohne Registrierung zur Verfügung gestellten Materialien zu Typo3 oder OpenOffice ist allerdings schon beträchtlich. Einige Videos stammen aus z.T. professionell produzierten Videotutorials (z.B. Reihe: Video 2 brain). Der Haken bleibt, dass ledlich einzelne Kapitel kostenlos zur Verfügung stehen. Möchte man sich weiter informieren, wird entweder ein Kapitelpreis fällig, oder man “greift” zum Basisabo für 5,95€ im Monat
