Ich war schon immer von den kleinen Icons fazinisert, die neben der Adresszeile auftauchten. Mit den Jahren lernte ich natürlich auch diese in meine Homepage einzubinden. Die Gestaltung an sich machte mir aber immer wieder Probleme, so dass ich es letztlich sein ließ. Im Zeitalter von Web 2.0 wird es allerdings ganz einfach. GenFavicon ist ein Service, der es ermöglicht, eine eigene Vorlage online in einem Dreischritt als Favicon aufzubereiten. In einem ersten Schritt wird entweder auf ein im Netz dich befindliches Image verwiesen oder ein Bild von der eigenen Festplatte hochgeladen. Dann wird verkleinert. Zu guter Letzt kann das Bild als Favicon oder png gedownloaded werden.
Nachdem das Favicon (favicon.ico) erstellt ist, muss es nur noch ins Root-Directory der Website eingepflegt werden. Der Hinweis

Von der Index.html werden ja jetzt auch noch andere Seiten aufgerufen. Muss dann auf jeder Seite extra wieder eingebunden sein oder reicht es auf der index-Seite?
Manchmal kommen ja Besucher auch nicht über die Hauptseite. Die würden das sonst nicht sehen?
